The past simple الماضي البسيط 

للفعل العادي ( ed ) 1- يتكون الماضي البسيط بإضافة

Play played / love loved / study studied / stop stopped /

2- والتصريف الثاني من الأفعال الشاذة

( fly – flew / put – put / go – went / break – broke )

( was / were + ppالتصريف الثالث ) يتكون الماضي البسيط في المبني للمجهول من

• We built the house last year . ( معلوم )

§The house was built last year ( مجهول 

: He went to Tanta last week. يدل الماضي البسيط علي فعل حدث في الماضي وانتهي §

ويأتي الماضي البسيط مع معظم القواعد ومع الكلمات الآتية :

**They travelled to Alexandria the other day .                                    ** My brother married two years ago

** The pharaohs invented many things.                                              ** It's three weeks since I visited my grandfather

** Nasser built the high Dam .                                                              ** She visited Luxor last month

ونرجع الفعل للمصدر ( did )في السؤال والنفي نستخدم الفعل المساعد

• Did Ali make a box yesterday ?                         ** Yes, he did. § No, he didn't.

**  How long ago = When                       ** How long ago did you go to the cinema?                              ** A year ago

: يستخدم مع التعبيرات ت الآتية بدلا من المضارع إذا آتي بعدها فاعل ويعتبر ماضي غير حقيقي

**I wish Sara were here now.مع المفرد ( were )لاحظ استخدام

** I wish he came on time

**  It's time he arrived.             ** It is time you got up ( It's time to get up)

**I would rather she helped him.    **I'd rather I went out now ( I'd rather go out )

لاحظ استخدام الماضي التام مع كلمات الماضي البسيط

**I 'd rather he had visited us last week

**  I wish my father had visited London last year
